Ramifications pivots a multi-level creative appropriation of a selection of organ recordings – realised by Marinos Koutsomichalis in York UK and employing Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall Organ. In his studio, Z’EV time-stretched and digitally manipulated these recordings in numerous fashions eventually assembling an almost 2h long draft drone composition. This drone has been further worked on by the two artists. Eventually, Marinos Koutsomichalis diffused this material in the A.S. Rymer Auditorium (York UK) and utilising a 5.1 farfield Genelec monitor system and recorded it anew a number of times so as to capture and to foregrounding spatial resonances, frequency dependent cross-modulations and other subtle acoustic phenomena that were latent in the original recording.
